Pune, 8th November 2026: In its first week, Pune Metro’s new Pink Line from Maan in Hinjewadi to District Court has become a favourite subject for local creators. Residents have been posting first-ride reels showing the new pink trains, platforms and coaches.

The line opened to passengers on Wednesday, November 4. Here is what riders are showing, and the practical details to know before your own first trip.

What first riders are posting

Pune page @pune_browser filmed a first trip with the on-screen line “Pune Metro Line 3 First Experience” and the caption asking how many minutes it takes from District Court to Maan. The reel had about 1,200 likes within two days.

Creator @gayu_kiduniya posted a ride inside a near-empty coach, captioned as a first ride on the Pink Line that made Pune “a little more connected”, and tagged it with office transport and traffic.

Others, including @karan_21___ (“IT hub meets the heart of Pune”), @kunal2kashyap and @croissants_and_coffeee (“Have you explored it yet?”), posted platform and window shots from their first trips.

How long the full ride takes

The answer to @pune_browser’s question: the full trip from Maan to District Court takes about 40 to 45 minutes, according to the operator’s figures in our Line 3 stations, fares and timings guide.

Fares range from ₹12 to ₹62. The first trains leave Maan and District Court at 6 am.

Six stations are still closed

Only 17 of the 23 stations are open. Balewadi High Street, Balewadi Phata, Baner Gaon, Baner-Pashan Link Road, Bhosale Nagar and Shivajinagar are still closed and will open in phases, two of them by the end of November. If your stop is closed, our guide lists the nearest open station.

Why the coaches look empty in the reels

Most reels were shot during the Diwali break, when IT parks in Hinjewadi were largely shut. Even so, the line logged about 50,000 journeys on its first day, as we reported earlier. Expect fuller trains once offices reopen after Bhau Beej on November 11, when trains are planned every five minutes at peak hours.

The Pink Line is also run entirely by women train operators, according to the Prime Minister’s Office, which the government called a first for the country.

  • Check whether your station is open before leaving home
  • A separate Lakshmi Pujan timing for the Pink Line had not been announced at the time of writing; Maha Metro’s Purple and Aqua lines close at 8 pm on November 8, as listed in our Lakshmi Pujan metro timings
