Pune, 29th October 2026: Akurdi-based Bajaj Auto has had its best quarter ever. In results filed with the exchanges on October 27, the company reported a 35% jump in standalone net profit to ₹3,354 crore for July–September 2026, and revenue from operations crossed ₹20,000 crore for the first time.

Revenue came in at ₹20,003 crore, up 34% from ₹14,922 crore a year ago. EBITDA rose 37% to ₹4,171 crore, and the margin improved to 20.9% from 20.5%. The company sold 15.49 lakh vehicles in the quarter, against 12.94 lakh last year.

Exports carried the quarter

Most of the growth came from abroad. Exports were up 43% at 6.77 lakh units, while domestic sales grew just 2% to 6.07 lakh units. The company said revenue from Africa nearly doubled to a record, and Latin America had its best-ever quarter.

Two-wheeler volumes rose 20% to 12.84 lakh units. Commercial vehicles, mostly three-wheelers, went up to 2.65 lakh from 2.23 lakh.

Electric is no longer a side business

The EV range, which includes the Chetak scooter and electric three-wheelers, sold about 2 lakh units in the quarter, compared with around 82,000 a year earlier. EVs now bring in roughly a third of Bajaj Auto’s domestic revenue. For a company that most of us still associate with petrol motorcycles, that’s a big shift.

Why Pune should care

Bajaj Auto is one of Pune’s oldest and largest employers, with its head office in Akurdi and plants spread across the region. A record quarter usually means steady orders for component suppliers in Chakan, Bhosari and the wider Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial belt, and stable jobs along with it. Dealers will now be watching whether October and November festive sales keep up the momentum.
