Line 3 fare chart

Fares on Line 3 are distance-based. These are the slabs announced by PMRDA:

DistanceFare
Up to 2 km₹12
2 to 4 km₹25
4 to 8 km₹37
8 to 12 km₹43
12 to 18 km₹49
More than 18 km (for example Maan to District Court)₹62

The fare structure is to be reviewed after six months, according to the operator.

Why Line 3 costs more than the other Pune Metro lines

Maha Metro’s Purple and Aqua lines charge between ₹10 and ₹35. Line 3 tops out at ₹62 because it was built under a public-private partnership in which the private concessionaire designs, builds, finances and runs the line for 35 years, and fares were fixed under that concession agreement. The other two lines were built and are run by Maha Metro. You can read more in our report on the Pink Line’s first-day ridership.

How often do trains run

Officials have given slightly different figures since launch. At opening, trains were announced every 5.5 to 6 minutes in the morning (7:30 to 9:30 am) and evening (5 to 8 pm) peaks, and every 10 to 12 minutes at other times. After the Diwali holidays, the plan is a train every five minutes at peak and every eight minutes off-peak. Check the station display boards for the current frequency.

How to buy tickets

  • Pune Metro mobile app (QR ticket)
  • WhatsApp QR tickets
  • Ticket counters at stations
  • Automatic ticket vending machines
  • National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), which works across all Pune Metro lines

App and WhatsApp QR tickets must be scanned at the entry gates.

Changing lines at District Court

District Court is the only working interchange for now. A 150-metre foot overbridge links the Line 3 station to the existing Maha Metro station, with stairs, escalators and lifts. From there, Line 1 (PCMC to Swargate) runs underground and Line 2 (Vanaz to Ramwadi) runs on the elevated level.

Until an integrated ticket is ready, you need separate QR tickets for Line 3 and for Maha Metro. NCMC card holders can simply tap in at both gates. Allow 8 to 10 minutes for the change at peak hours.

Tips if your station is still closed

  • Going to Shivajinagar: get off at Agriculture College or District Court.
  • Going to Baner: use Aundh station and take an auto or bus.
  • Going to Balewadi High Street: use R K Laxman Museum station.
  • Seven stations have only one staircase at first: Maan, Maan-MIDC Circle Phase II, Maan Bus Depot, Hinjewadi Phase II-Circle I, Padmabhushan Chowk, Agriculture College and District Court. Keep a few extra minutes at peak hours.

Parking and last-mile connections

Parking is limited. PMC facilities near the Balewadi station (Amar Tech Park, about 30,000 sq ft) and near Baner (ABZ premises, about 21,000 sq ft) are being used. Other parking sites are still being prepared. PMPML is working on feeder buses; see our list of PMPML feeder routes for Line 3. For the full network, read our Pune Metro map and guide.
