Pimpri Dairy Farm Railway Overbridge Opens: 565-Metre, ₹65.28 Crore Bridge to Replace Railway Crossing No. 60
The 565 m Pimpri Dairy Farm railway overbridge, built for about Rs 65.28 crore, links Dapodi-Nigdi road with Pimpri village and will let crossing No. 60 close.

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 6th November 2026: Commuters between the Dapodi-Nigdi road and Pimpri village no longer have to wait at the railway gate. Deputy Chief Minister and Pune guardian minister Sunetra Pawar on Friday inaugurated the railway overbridge at Pimpri Dairy Farm, built by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).
At the same event she also laid the foundation for a new building for the PCMC’s ‘L’ ward office. Mayor Ravi Landge presided, with MLAs Uma Khapre and Amit Gorkhe, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar and Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi among those present.

The bridge also has a separate footpath for pedestrians.
Crossing No. 60 can finally close
The main purpose of the bridge is to allow the permanent closure of railway level crossing No. 60 on the Mumbai-Pune line. With local trains, express trains and goods trains on this stretch, the gate was often shut several times an hour, building queues on both sides.
Who benefits
Residents of Pimpri, Pimple Saudagar and Rahatani get a shorter, signal-free way to the Dapodi-Nigdi road and to Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro station. The PCMC expects the bridge to take pressure off the Indira Gandhi bridge via Shagun Chowk, which carries most of this traffic today.
