You can book Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus tickets online at npublic.msrtcors.com or through MSRTC’s official reservation app. Women get 50% off fares under the Mahila Samman Yojana, senior citizens aged 65 to 75 get 50% off, and those above 75 travel free under the Amrit Jyeshtha Nagrik Yojana.

With Diwali rush starting this week, booking early is the safest way to get a seat on Shivneri, Shivshahi or ordinary “Lalpari” buses out of Pune.

How to book online

  1. Open npublic.msrtcors.com or the official MSRTC reservation app.
  2. Enter the boarding and destination points, such as Swargate, Shivajinagar (Wakdewadi) or Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the date.
  3. Filter by bus type and departure time, then pick a seat.
  4. Enter passenger details. Tick the concession box if you qualify.
  5. Pay by UPI, card or net banking. The e-ticket comes by SMS and email.

Carry the e-ticket on your phone and the original ID used for booking. Conductors check ID for concession tickets.

The requirement for the above-75 category was deferred because of biometric issues, the Free Press Journal reported. If you do not have the card yet, ask at your nearest ST depot.
