Pune, 7th November 2026: With Lakshmi Pujan on Sunday, November 8, Pune residents have been filming the city’s Diwali lights all week. Three places stand out in the most-liked local reels: Magarpatta City’s Deepotsav, the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple and the lantern-lined lanes of Nigdi Pradhikaran.

Here is what local creators captured, and what to know if you want to see it yourself.

Magarpatta City: a lakh diyas on Dhanteras

On Dhanteras, Friday, November 6, Magarpatta City in Hadapsar held its Deepotsav. A reel by Pune creator @cine.craft.studio._ says more than one lakh diyas were lit in the township that evening, and shows residents filming fireworks over the township’s trees. It crossed 2,800 likes within a day.

Other residents, including @pune_baramati_pune, posted their own clips tagged “Deepotsav 2026, Magarpatta City”.

The Deepotsav is a township tradition. Residents told The Bridge Chronicle in an earlier feature that they light diyas near the main circle every Dhanteras, alongside community events for Ganeshotsav and Navratri. The diya count in the reel is the creator’s figure; the township has not published an official number.

Magarpatta City is a private township. If you do not live there, check with the township before planning a visit.
