When does a pass pay off?

• Daily pass: worth it if you take three or more rides in a day, or two longer rides of over 10 km each.
• Monthly pass: at ₹1,500, it pays off if you would otherwise spend more than about ₹60 a day on 25 working days. Someone making a 12 km trip each way (₹30 each) spends about ₹1,500 a month, so the pass adds value through extra trips on weekends.

Where to buy

Daily passes are sold by conductors on the bus. Monthly passes are issued at PMPML pass centres at major depots and bus stations, such as Swargate, Pune Station, Deccan, Nigdi and Pimpri. Carry a photo ID and a passport-size photo for the first monthly pass.

PMPML said in September 2026 that it is building an online pass system, starting with monthly passes, so you will be able to buy them on your phone. We will update this article when it goes live.

Concessions

PMPML offers concession passes for students, and a 50% fare discount for senior citizens; see our article on the senior citizen discount. Check eligibility documents at the pass centre.
