Pune, 1st November 2026: HMD has unveiled the Nokia 2360 Flip, a clamshell feature phone with two displays, a dedicated SOS button and a Family Assist feature that lets relatives manage the phone remotely. The company is pitching it at school students and senior citizens.

The phone has drawn a lot of interest online, with “Nokia 2360 flip phone” trending on Google in India this week. HMD has not announced the price or when it will go on sale.

Nokia 2360 Flip specifications

  • Displays: 2.8-inch main screen and 1.77-inch outer screen
  • Battery: 1,450mAh, removable
  • Camera: QVGA
  • Storage: 4MB internal
  • Network: 2G
  • Other features: FM radio, loudspeaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, physical keypad
  • Colours: Burgundy Red, Charcoal and Teal

SOS button and Family Assist

The SOS button sits on the back of the phone. Pressing it calls a preset emergency contact and sends an alert message to up to five saved numbers.

Family Assist lets a family member set up the phone from a distance. They can add contacts, adjust the volume, set reminders and change other settings without needing the phone in hand. For an elderly parent living alone in Kothrud while children work in Hinjewadi or abroad, that kind of remote help can be handy.

The 2G-only catch

The biggest question for Indian buyers is network support. The Nokia 2360 Flip works only on 2G, according to the specifications shared so far. In India, Jio does not run a 2G network, while Airtel and Vi still offer 2G service. So a Jio SIM will not work in it. Check with your operator before buying, especially for a phone meant for emergencies.

HMD has not confirmed whether the model will launch in India or if a 4G version will follow. HMD sells other Nokia feature phones in India, including 4G models, which may suit Jio users better.

Should you wait for it?

If you want a simple phone with big keys and an emergency button for a parent, the feature set looks right. But without a price or confirmed Indian launch, it makes sense to wait for official details. We will update this article when HMD announces Indian pricing.
