Pune, 1st November 2026: A Pune-launched digital platform called TractorNext aims to help farmers compare tractors, agricultural drones and other farm machinery before they buy. It was launched on 29 October at an industry gathering in Pune by G.S. Grewal, President of the Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA), Punekar News reported.
Farmers have more machinery choices than ever, Grewal said at the launch, but picking equipment that suits their specific needs is still a challenge.
What TractorNext offers
Founder and CEO Vishnu Dhas said the platform was built to simplify equipment selection for India’s agricultural and rural communities. It gives buyers product information, side-by-side comparisons and access to relevant expertise.
It covers:
- tractors and farm implements
- agricultural drones
- bulldozers and specialised machinery
The company says it uses regional-language communication to reach rural buyers. For manufacturers and suppliers, it offers product discovery and a way to reach regional markets.
What has not been announced
The company has not said which languages the platform supports, whether it charges farmers, how it earns from manufacturers, or how many users it has. Without that, it is hard to judge how independent its comparisons will be, and we will update this article when the company shares more.
A practical checklist before buying farm equipment
A tractor is often the biggest purchase a farm family makes, and buyers in Pune, Ahilyanagar, Solapur and Satara districts still rely heavily on dealer advice. Whichever tool you use to compare, check these locally:
- the nearest authorised service centre and how quickly it sends a mechanic
- spare-part availability for the model in your taluka
- the total loan cost, not just the monthly instalment
- any state or central subsidy you qualify for, which your taluka agriculture office can confirm
Also at the launch
Grewal also presented his book “Leader as a Coach”, on coaching, employee empowerment and continuous learning.
