Pune, 1st November 2026: “Galaxy S26 Ultra at Rs 79,999” has been trending on X this week, as Samsung’s festive offers get shared widely. The number is real, but it is an effective price, and very few buyers will actually pay that little.
How the Rs 79,999 figure is reached
The Galaxy S26 Ultra with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is listed at Rs 1,54,999, according to a report by My Mobile India on the festive offers. The Rs 79,999 figure comes from two deductions:
- Instant discount: Rs 15,000
- Exchange benefit: up to Rs 60,000
Rs 1,54,999 minus Rs 15,000 minus Rs 60,000 works out to Rs 79,999. That means the headline price assumes you get the full Rs 60,000 for your old phone.
Why most people will pay more
The exchange value depends on the model, condition and eligibility of the phone you hand over. Only recent flagship phones in very good condition are likely to fetch close to the maximum amount. An older mid-range phone may get a fraction of that.
For example, if your old phone is valued at Rs 20,000, the effective price would be Rs 1,54,999 minus Rs 15,000 minus Rs 20,000, which is Rs 1,19,999. Without any exchange, the price after the instant discount alone would be Rs 1,39,999.
The report also mentions a Rs 4,000 first-purchase benefit, but it is not clear whether this is part of the Rs 79,999 calculation or who qualifies for it.
What about the “Rs 41 a day” Galaxy S26 offer?
Samsung is also promoting the standard Galaxy S26 at around Rs 41 a day. This is a daily-cost figure worked out over a 40-month no-cost EMI plan, and it includes a claimed Rs 13,000 cashback plus exchange benefits. It is not the selling price of the phone, and the total amount you pay over 40 months will be much higher than the daily figure suggests.
Tips before you buy
- Get your old phone’s exchange value checked first, at a Samsung store or online, before deciding.
- Read which bank cards the instant discount applies to and whether it needs EMI.
- Check the offer’s validity dates on Samsung’s official site, as festive deals change often.
- Compare prices at authorised stores in Pune, such as those on FC Road, JM Road and in Phoenix Marketcity, with online prices.
