Pune, 30th October 2026: Sunday, November 1 brings the usual first-of-the-month changes, and this time a few of them land right before Diwali. Here is what Pune households, pensioners and small businesses should keep an eye on.
LPG cylinder prices and the e-KYC requirement
Oil marketing companies review LPG prices on the first day of every month, so a revision is possible on November 1. Nothing has been announced yet. Commercial cylinders (19 kg) cost ₹2,810 in Delhi in October, while the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder has stayed at ₹942 in Delhi since June 7, 2026. Pune rates are usually a little different, so check your distributor’s bill or app.
The bigger issue for many families is Aadhaar biometric e-KYC. Households that want refills at the regulated price need to complete face-based authentication through their gas company’s app (Indane, HP Gas or Bharatgas) along with the Aadhaar FaceRD app. If you have already done it, you do not need to repeat it. Customers who have not verified may find their subsidised refill bookings blocked until they do.
- Open your LPG company’s app and log in with the registered mobile number.
- Install the Aadhaar FaceRD app.
- Choose “Aadhaar eKYC” and take a live photo when asked.
- Approval usually comes in 24 to 48 hours.
With the Diwali cooking rush around the corner, it makes sense to finish this before your next booking.
Life certificate window opens for pensioners
Central government pensioners can submit their annual life certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) from November 1. For most pensioners the deadline is November 20. Those aged 80 and above already had a window from October 1.
You can submit at your pension-paying bank branch, through the Aadhaar-based Jeevan Pramaan digital service, or use doorstep services offered by some banks and India Post. Pune’s bank branches in areas like Kothrud, Aundh and Camp tend to see long queues in the first week, so going mid-month or using the digital route can save a morning.
ITR deadline for audit cases moved to November 21
The CBDT has extended the due date for filing income tax returns in audit cases for FY 2025-26 from October 31 to Saturday, November 21, 2026. This applies to businesses and professionals whose accounts must be audited. It does not help salaried people who missed their own deadline.
Draft GST return forms open for feedback
Draft versions of GSTR-1, GSTR-1A and the Invoice Furnishing Facility (IFF) are scheduled to be released on the MyGov portal on November 1, with suggestions accepted until November 30. CBIC Member (GST) Sanjay Mangal said on October 22 that the changes would be introduced gradually and do not need any change in law. Pune’s traders and CA firms may want to review the drafts before they are finalised.
Other dates worth noting
Banks in Maharashtra will be shut on several days in November because of Diwali and Guru Nanak Jayanti. We have listed them in our November bank holiday guide. If you are travelling for the festival, also read about the platform ticket restriction at Pune station from November 1 to 15.
