Pune, 29th October 2026: Those early morning walks are starting to need a jacket. Pune’s minimum temperature has dropped, and Shivajinagar recorded 16.3°C on October 27, about 0.9°C below normal. Afternoons, though, are still warm, with the maximum at 33.7°C, 2.2°C above normal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) expects mainly clear to partly cloudy skies over the next few days, with no significant rain. The minimum temperature is likely to climb slowly to around 20°C by October 31, while daytime highs stay around 33–34°C.
This is typical for late October. Clear nights let the day’s heat escape quickly, so mornings feel cold and afternoons still feel like summer. The swing between day and night is one of the first signs that winter is on its way.
What about Cyclone Arnab?
Cyclone Arnab formed over the Bay of Bengal and was expected to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam, near Yanam, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the coast before weakening inland.
Pune is not expected to feel much of it. Widespread rain in Maharashtra is unlikely, and any effect should be limited to the inland parts of Vidarbha that border Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
For the next few days
A light jacket for early runs and two-wheeler rides is a good idea, and drink enough water in the afternoons. If you’re flying or taking a train to coastal Andhra Pradesh or Odisha, check the status before you leave. People with asthma or allergies should be careful on hazy mornings, when air quality tends to dip.
With weather like this, it’s a good time to plan a trip. Here are 8 winter weekend getaways near Pune.
