The quickest way to complain to the Pune Municipal Corporation about potholes, garbage, water supply, drainage or street lights is the PMC CARE app or the complaint section of pmc.gov.in. You can also call PMC’s toll-free helpline or go to your ward office. Each complaint gets a number you can use to track it.

A clear photo and an exact location make the biggest difference to how fast a complaint is closed.

Ways to complain

MethodBest for
PMC CARE app (Android and iPhone)Potholes, garbage, drainage, street lights, with photo and GPS location
pmc.gov.in complaint sectionDetailed complaints, uploads
PMC toll-free helplineWhen you cannot use the app
Ward officeRepeated or unresolved issues, building and encroachment complaints

The toll-free number is listed on PMC’s website and app.

How to file on the app

  1. Install the PMC CARE app and register with your mobile number.
  2. Choose the department and complaint type, for example “Road – Pothole”.
  3. Take a photo at the spot so the app records the location.
  4. Add a short description: landmark, size of the problem, how long it has been there.
  5. Submit and note the complaint number.
  6. Track the status; you will get an update when it is marked closed.

If nothing happens

  • Reopen the complaint in the app if it is closed without work being done, and add a new photo
  • Escalate to the ward office or the assistant municipal commissioner of your ward
  • Raise it with your local corporator
  • For serious issues like an open drain or dangerous tree, also inform the fire brigade or police if there is an immediate risk
Tip: One complaint per problem works better than a long list. Separate complaints are routed to the right department faster.
