MSRTC runs an air-conditioned electric e-Shivai bus between Swargate and Mahabaleshwar, with departures from Pune at 5:30 am, 6:30 am, 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Return buses leave Mahabaleshwar at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Seats can be booked in advance online or at Swargate.
With winter setting in, it is a comfortable way to reach the hill station without driving the ghat roads yourself.
