Pune, 3rd November 2026: The Pune unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against Kiran Shyamrao Jadhav, Deputy Director of Agriculture, and his wife Sangeeta Jadhav for allegedly possessing assets worth ₹4.37 crore that are 128% more than their known sources of income.
Jadhav is also Deputy Director and Project Director of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in Solapur. The couple lives in Kundan Park, Shivajinagar. The case has been registered at Bundgarden police station, the Free Press Journal reported.
How the case came about
- In April 2025, BJP MLA Suresh Dhas raised allegations of irregularities in the Agriculture Department, including in licence issuance and financial transactions.
- On 2 December 2025, the ACB Director General ordered an open inquiry.
- The ACB examined the period from 4 June 1994 to 2 December 2025, more than 31 years, and estimated assets of ₹4,37,74,930 in excess of known income.
- The ACB alleges the wife abetted the accumulation of the assets.
Additional Superintendent of Police Ajit Patil lodged the complaint, and Additional SP Arjun Bhosale is investigating under Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande.
What a disproportionate assets case means
Under the Prevention of Corruption Act, a public servant can be prosecuted if they hold assets they cannot satisfactorily account for from their known income during a check period. Family members who help hold or hide such assets can be charged with abetment. The accused can explain their sources of income during the investigation and trial.
