Pune, 3rd November 2026: Voters in Maharashtra have until 13 November to file claims and objections under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, after the Election Commission of India extended the deadline from 26 October in a revised schedule issued on 29 October. Notices and disposal of claims will continue until 25 November, and the final electoral roll will be published on 30 November.
Pune district had received 10,91,943 applications by 2 November, of which 1,04,937 were still pending, district officials said. About 9.87 lakh, roughly 90%, have been processed.

Why it matters
Pune district had 90,80,173 voters before the SIR, while the draft roll lists 62,13,692, which is why so many people are filing Form 6 to get their names back. Deputy District Election Officer Minal Kalaskar said the SIR roll will be the base for future Special Summary Revisions, so later additions will go through that route.
How to check and file
- Search for your name in the draft roll on the Election Commission’s voter services portal or the Voter Helpline app.
- If your name is missing, file Form 6 with proof of age and address.
- To correct details or change address, use Form 8; to object to an entry, use Form 7.
- Keep the reference number and watch for a notice from your Electoral Registration Officer before 25 November.
Our earlier report explains why about 28 lakh names were missing from Pune’s draft list.
