Pune, 1st November 2026: More than 60 Indian companies met seven Swedish cleantech firms in Pune this week at the 28th workshop of the India-Sweden Innovations Accelerator (ISIA), a programme that helps Swedish clean-technology companies find industrial customers in India.

The focus was industrial decarbonisation: how factories can cut energy use and emissions.

What ISIA is

ISIA is supported by the Swedish Energy Agency and run with Business Sweden and the Confederation of Indian Industry’s Green Business Centre (CII-GBC). Swedish firms join a delegation, present their technology to Indian companies, and hold one-to-one business meetings that can lead to pilot projects. More on the programme is on the ISIA India website.

The Swedish firms in Pune

According to the workshop report in The Machine Maker, the seven companies were C-Green, Drupps, ECAPS, Elonroad, Enclima Solutions, Holyvolt and PipeGuard. Their solutions covered:

  • energy storage and clean energy
  • resource efficiency and water management
  • IoT and digital monitoring
  • clean mobility, including green propulsion

Two of them, ECAPS and PipeGuard, graduated from the ISIA programme at the Pune event, meaning they have completed the accelerator.

Who spoke

  • Pranati Shroff Munot, core committee member of the IGBC Pune Chapter and director of Sustain and Save, gave the welcome address.
  • Nils Henoch, senior business developer at the Swedish Energy Agency, gave the theme address.
  • Erik Odar, trade commissioner at Business Sweden, spoke for the Swedish side.
  • Dinesh Ghai, principal counsellor at CII-GBC, gave the concluding remarks.

What ISIA says it has achieved

Since it began, ISIA says it has brought more than 80 clean technologies to the Indian market, enabled more than 250 pilot and commercial projects, built more than 50 industry partnerships and engaged more than 1,500 Indian stakeholders. These are the programme’s own figures. Next year marks 15 years of India-Sweden collaboration under the programme.

The Indian companies that took part were not named, and no deals from the Pune workshop have been announced yet.

Why Chakan and Bhosari factories should care

Pune’s manufacturing belt, from Chakan and Talegaon to Ranjangaon and the Bhosari MIDC, runs auto, engineering and process plants with heavy power and water bills. For these units, the practical draw of events like this is access to tested technology that cuts those bills, often through a small pilot first. Companies interested in future workshops can contact CII-GBC or Business Sweden’s India office.

The city also added new EV manufacturing capacity recently; read our story on Pune’s new EV plants. More in our business section.
