Pune, 29th October 2026: If you still haven’t sorted your Diwali gifts, the Karigar Bazaar at Dutch Palace, Bund Garden, is worth a visit before it closes on Sunday, November 1.
The ten-day bazaar opened on October 23. According to the organisers, Craft and Artisan Revival LLP, it has more than 250 stalls run by artisans and weavers from over 26 states and union territories.
What’s there
Most of what’s on sale comes straight from the people who make it. Expect handloom sarees and dress material, embroidery and regional weaves, folk and tribal art, handmade jewellery, lamps and home décor, and plenty of small festive gift items. There are also live craft demonstrations, some folk music, and food counters with regional dishes from different parts of the country.
Interest has clearly picked up this week, with searches for “Karigar Bazaar Pune” climbing as people look for handmade gifts. Part of the appeal is that when you buy directly, more of the money reaches the artisan, and a lot of these pieces simply aren’t available in malls.
