Samsung has officially opened its One UI 8.0 Beta program, based on Android 16, beginning this week. The beta is now available to users of the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra—as well as the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6—in select countries, bringing early access to enhanced AI features, improved security tools, and refined interface upgrades.

What’s New in Samsung One UI 8.0 Beta? Key Features
- Enhanced Galaxy AI / Multimodal Capabilities – Smarter, context-aware AI features that process more on-device for speed and privacy.
- Private Space (Redesigned Secure Folder) – A new highly secure area for apps and files, now built on Android’s native “Private Space.”
- Improved App Locking – Deeper lock control; apps can now be locked using fingerprint, PIN, or other authentication beyond the system lock.
- UI Refinements – Updates include refreshed animations, icons, redesigned Quick Share interface, enhanced notification handling, and upgraded Now Bar with live updates.
- Security Patch Level – Beta includes the August 2025 security patch for better safety.

- Regions with Active Rollout:
- United Kingdom and South Korea: Confirmed rollouts.
- United States: Galaxy S24 series beta already active; foldables joining soon.
- India: Beta reportedly opening for both Galaxy S24 series and foldables; however, some users see “recruitment closed.”
- Future Expansion (Starting in September):
- Upcoming eligibility will include Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy A36 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, A54, Tab S10 series, and more.
How to Install the Samsung One UI 8.0 Beta
- Open the Samsung Members app (from Galaxy Store or Play Store).
- Sign in with your Samsung Account.
- Look for the “One UI 8 Beta Program” banner on the app’s home screen and tap it.
- Complete the registration process.
- Navigate to Settings > Software Update > Download and install.
- The ~3 GB update will appear; download and tap Install now.
- Your device will restart and boot into One UI 8.0 Beta.
A Word of Caution: It’s a Beta
- Expect some bugs and performance issues—this is early software.
- Always back up your data before installing.
- Reverting to One UI 7 requires a factory reset, which erases all data.
