What followed was a war that tested everything—our army’s grit, our intelligence, our diplomacy. Operation Vijay was launched, and our brave soldiers climbed impossible heights under enemy fire to reclaim what was ours. Many never came back. And those who did, returned as legends.

For me, Kargil Vijay Diwas isn’t just a day on the calendar. It’s a reminder that real heroes don’t wear capes—they wear camouflage. These were young boys, some barely in their twenties, who didn’t think twice before choosing country over comfort, family, or even life.
Even now, when I see images or videos from that time, or hear war veterans speak, it hits hard. The courage, the tears, the sheer will—it’s impossible not to feel emotional.

You don’t need to wear a uniform to serve your country. On this day, maybe take a few minutes to:
- Watch a documentary or read a first-hand account of the war
- Visit a war memorial if you’re nearby one
- Donate to veteran support organizations

It’s these small things that keep their legacy alive.
