By Prashant for PuneriPages.in
We’re heading into the last week of September, and if you’ve got any banking work lined up, it’s better to plan it right now. According to the official calendar released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed on several days this week across different states, apart from the usual Sunday and fourth Saturday offs.
So, to save you from that frustrating “bank closed” board at the last minute, here’s the full breakdown.

📍 What About Pune and Maharashtra?
Now, if you’re in Pune (or anywhere in Maharashtra), here’s the good news: apart from the standard holidays on Sunday, September 22, and Saturday, September 28 (fourth Saturday), there are no extra bank closures in the state.
That means banks here will be fully operational on all weekdays in between—September 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 (Friday, except for local closures elsewhere).
💡 Don’t Forget Online Banking
Even if the physical branches are closed, remember you’ve still got UPI apps, mobile banking, internet banking, and ATMs working 24/7. But for things like cheque deposits, passbook updates, or any paperwork, it’s best to wrap them up on working days to avoid last-minute hassles.
✅ Final Word
The last thing anyone wants is to stand outside a closed branch with pending work. So, take a quick look at this holiday list, mark your dates, and plan ahead. This way, you won’t have to worry about interrupted banking during the last week of September.
