In a War 2 marketing blunder that has become the talk of Bollywood social media, YRF is facing heat after sharing a misleading fan review. that outwardly looks like praise—with an “11/10” score—but is actually dripping with sarcasm and critique. Social media users, especially on Reddit, quickly exposed that Yash Raj Films (YRF) appeared to have overlooked or ignored the negative text that followed.

The Post: What YRF Shared
YRF posted an Instagram Story quoting Taran Adarsh: “Has star power, scale, style, stunts,” giving the impression of positive feedback.
The Reality Behind the Review
Reddit sleuths dug deeper and found the original review from Adarsh’s X account, which read:The actual review described War 2 as “Disappointing… Weakest in the YRF Spy Universe,” making this a clear War 2 marketing blunder.
“Disappointing. Weakest film in the YRF Spy Universe… Has star power, scale, style, stunts – but lacks soul… Writing is the biggest culprit here. Not even Hrithik Roshan or Jr NTR can save this royal mess.”
The review clearly critiques the film—even though the quoted snippet in YRF’s post seems praise, it’s taken completely out of context.
Reddit Exposes the Blunder
The error was swiftly flagged on Reddit, where users mocked the marketing oversight. Comments included the ironic quip:
“Turning 00s into 100s. give the intern a raise.”
And another:
“Gotta learn this and use during my yearly performance reviews.”
Their sarcasm captured just how tone-deaf the slicing of the snippet seemed.
The Social Media Reaction: ‘Getting Dragged’
The tone online quickly shifted to ridicule. Fans lampooned the studio’s marketing team for seeming to dismiss or not read the actual review. For a heavyweight studio like YRF—part of the highly successful “Spy Universe”—this is an embarrassingly comical misstep.
